moon viewing festival

we went to view the full harvest moon in the japanese gardens in Portland.
they served us sake and miso soup and moon dumplings while we walked through the garden and waited for the moon to rise.

amazing things
we have a lovely patch of asparagus growing in our garden, but now that the edible part is gone there is this beautiful red berry. who knew that asparagus had red berries? very pretty though and quite inspirational.
