Dying (as in color) with mushrooms!

We went to a mushroom workshop at Opal Creek Wilderness area near Salem. It's an amazing (I mean amazing) old growth forest with an amazing diversity of mushrooms. We dyed some items with one of the conk mushrooms we found, I dyed a silk scarf and it turned out this beautiful yellow color. We found some chantrelles and had them for breakfast sauteed in butter and oh my god!!!- delicious. Mushrooms are incredible beings....

Gustav's Pre-Halloween Party! woo!

The first picture is Gustav, Ryan (in his Huey Lewis tee shirt) and Rick. Second picture is Rithy and I chatting by the fire. Uh no we weren't drinking- this is the other Kristin at the party- all Kristin's should be friends! The pumpkin (carved by Scott) is of a freakish, delusional, torture-loving moron (you guessed it- GW Bush) SCARY!

ART

Some pumpkin cards I printed. The second image is the trade that Shona from Lala Dex Press sent me. (see link at right for more of her goodies!) She does beautiful work and wonderful story images. (hopefully she'll get her half of the trade today!)

I thought I'd do something out of my normal thing. hope it works out, as I've never done the swap before... and these are some lovely felt coasters I've been working on, I love them and move them around the house just so I can set my glasses and cups on them. so guess what everyone is getting for christmas!
